Onward (Grades 7-12th) is a week full of fellowship and learning God’s Word. We will have amazing speakers, worship, recreation and food. We want Jesus to ignite fire into today’s youth so they can continue to look onward for what He has in store for their lives! Come and check it out!!
ERIC WESTLAKE
My name is Eric Westlake and I have had the privilege of serving as a pastor at Our Saviour’s for 10 years. During that time I have seen my three children graduate from high school and college. All of them are married and I currently have one beautiful granddaughter.
My wife Wendy and I have been married for 29 years and I am so blessed that she participates in so many different aspects of the church. The area of ministry that I am most excited about is be watch people come to know the Lord and than have the realization that God has a personal plan for their life.
ADAM MCCARLSON
SUNDAY EVENING SPEAKER
Adam McCarlson is a student at the Free Lutheran Seminary in Plymouth, MN. He is married and has five children (The best!). He also serves as the Director for AFLC Youth Ministries. Adam enjoys cooking, board games, fishing, disc golf, writing music, and passing on the Faith. He is in the middle of a project to set Luther’s Small Catechism to music.
DAVID FRANZ
MONDAY EVENING SPEAKER
Pastor David Franz is a graduate of the Free Lutheran Bible College & Seminary and the University of Northwestern (St. Paul, MN). He has been a pastor in the AFLC since 2011. He is currently serving Good Shepherd in Brainerd, MN, prior to that he served congregations in Iowa. He has been married to Whitney for 16 years, and have three children. He enjoys watching sports, playing golf, mountain biking, and grouse hunting.

TUESDAY EVENING SPEAKER
Pastor Micah Hjermstad currently serves as president of the AFLC. Prior to his election in 2022, he served congregations in Ishpeming, MI, and Fargo, ND. He is a 2002 graduate of the Free Lutheran Bible College and a 2010 graduate of the Free Lutheran Seminary. In his free time, he loves to travel, play golf, and explore the outdoors with his family. He is married to Brittany, and they have one son, Levi.
MICHAEL BRANDT
WEDNESDAY EVENING SPEAKER
Pastor Brandt is a native of South Dakota. He was raised in a committed Christian home where the joy and love of Christ prevailed. He is most thankful for the saving, transforming grace of Jesus Christ that enabled him to be born anew to a living hope. Michael graduated from the Association Free Lutheran Seminary. He has served congregations in Minnesota, Washington, Wisconsin and South Dakota. He and His wife Colleen have a combined family of 6 adult children, their mates, and 15 grandchildren.
